Note Cards

Kathy O’Rourke lives, plays and paints near the shore in Ocean County, New Jersey.  Her acrylic paintings and note cards feature  themes closest to her heart.  Frequently she combines captivating natural settings with  enchanting images of childhood.  Kathy  cherishes happy memories of her own childhood and recalls carefree romping through streams, meadows, woods and the sea shore. 

The joy of painting is often enthusiastically handed down through the generations in a family.  Kathy began painting in oils with her grandmother at the age of 5.  Kathy’s father (Scotty Buist), grandmother (Dorothy Buist) and great grandmother (Carrie Rule) were all avid artists.  In their honor one painting from each family artist has been included in the note card collection.

Kathy’s deep love of “all things ocean,” was the inspiration behind Sea Dreams artist note cards.  In the summer, if she isn’t wandering along the beach with one of her 9 grandchildren, Kathy is generally painting up a storm with a new little family artist.
